SUC Won Sharjah Sustainability Award 2016

Skyline University College (SUC) has won the 4th edition of Sharjah Sustainable Award (university category) in a competition organized by Environmental Protected Area Authority, Sharjah (EPPA) for developing the Arabian Wild Life smart phone application on April 28, 2016.

IMG-20160428-WA0001EPPA’s SSA initiative was established as part of their programs to promote environmental awareness among schools and universities; therefore creating a competition that fully involves students and their mentors in generating sustainable solutions to environmental issues that we are facing today. It also aims to raise consciousness among students about environment and biodiversity preservation.

The SUC team who developed the app, Mr. Abderrahman El-Ouahmani and Mr. Mohammed Ali El-Abed, both second year Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance students, were present at the occasion to receive their award. The students were under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Abdul Salam Chairman for Services Committee. SUC Deputy Director for Public Relations Mr. Firas Al Tabbaa along with some SUC faculty members, Dr. Mahesh Agnihotri, Dr. Sudhakar Kota, Dr. Robinson Joseph, Dr. Anil Roy Dubey, Dr. Manoj Kumar, and Dr. J. Shanmugan also attended the awarding ceremony to show their support.

SUC continues to integrate the principle of sustainability in its conscious effort to make a difference in the society not only in this particular event but also to a number of community services that SUC has participated in and conducted in the past.
