Dubai Lynx Student Competitions To Showcase Creative Talent In The Region

394

The Dubai Lynx Student Competitions provide a fantastic opportunity for full-time university students between 18-25 years of age, to showcase their talent and gain recognition within the creative industry.  Targeted at students studying graphic design, advertising, communications, marketing and PR, the competitions challenge participants to respond to briefs set by leading charity or NGOs.

Now in its sixth year, the Masar Student Creative Award for Print has this year partnered with Dubai Cares. The brief challenges students to create a print campaign to generate awareness and raise funds for the charity. The Student Integrated Competition brief from the Make a Wish Foundation asks students to create an integrated campaign that helps bring awareness and drive donations to the organisation using three types of media.

All of the entries are judged by leading creatives from top agencies in the MENA region, headed by Dubai Lynx Student Competitions Jury President Walid Kanaan, Chief Creative Officer, TBWA/RAAD, “I’m looking forward to judging the students work. It will be a fascinating glimpse into the creative future of our industry; how they think, how they create and how they design”.

The deadline for applications is 15 December 2017 and students can apply online, download the competition briefs, brand guidelines and additional background information on the charities from https://www.dubailynx.com/awards-and-competitions/student-competitions.

The shortlists will be announced online in February 2018 and those shortlisted will be invited to attend the Dubai Lynx Festival of Creativity from 11 – 13 March 2018 at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai.  The winners will be announced at a dedicated Student Awards Ceremony on the final day of the Festival.

“This is an amazing opportunity for students to engage with the industry, and get a head start for a career in the creative arena”, says Thea Skelton, Festival Director of Dubai Lynx. “We are looking forward to receiving entries from all over MENA and showcase the young talent we have in the region”.

Dubai Lynx Festival of Creativity is the region’s leading platform for those in the creative communications industry.  The three day festival brings together brands, advertisers, startups, creative communications agencies, innovators and tech companies to learn, be inspired and celebrate.
