Takeda’s Talents ‘SHINE’ with Competitive Leadership Skills

TAKEDA NEMEA launched a strategic development program in collaboration with INSEAD to empower talents to shine with improved management and leadership skills.

Press Release – Dubai, United Arab Emirates, October 11, 2017: Committed to nurture talent within the organisation and develop employees’ competencies, Takeda, a global research and development-driven pharmaceutical company, conducted a four day strategic program called ‘SHINE’ focusing on fundamental leadership and managerial skills. The program was conducted in partnership with leading business school INSEAD from September 30th to October 4th in Abu Dhabi.

SHINE is a strategic effort which focuses not just on their functional skills, but also helps them achieve their potential,” said Senem Birim Alp, Takeda’s Executive Director HR and Communications for Near East, Middle East & Africa (NEMEA).

To be conducted annually, the first series of SHINE witnessed participation of 25 high-potential employees from TAKEDA NEMEA, empowering them to respond to future challenges and translate them into opportunities.

“The program was really inspirational not only for the content but also for the effort Takeda is making to develop strong leaders across NEMEA” said one of SHINE program participants. “The program provided me with a great opportunity to network with colleagues I have never met, as well as, gain a lot of useful insights into strategy development and execution” said another participant.

According to survey results from 2017 ‘Best-in-Class in the Eyes of Employees’ conducted by Takeda, where 90% of NEMEA employees participated, it was noted that 87% of the workforce found Takeda NEMEA to offer an engaging environment, and 93% of people reflected clarity on their expected contribution to Takeda’s profitability.

As a special training and development program, SHINE covered mentoring sessions from Takeda Executive Leadership Team members and key note sessions focusing on real life cases, which helped participants to learn about personal and professional goals.
