There has been much uncertainty due to the recent press statements issued by the UAE National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) and Dubai Health Authority (DHA) regarding vaccine pre-requisites for visitors to exhibitions in the UAE.  Read More : New Covid Rules From June 6 UAE Events Open Only to Vaccinated Residents

As you may know, the vaccine roll-out for students in UAE commenced only a couple of weeks ago. Therefore, most students have not had the opportunity to have both their vaccine doses which, according to the information in the attached press statement, makes it impossible for students to attend the event and especially for school managements to organise trips for their students.

“We have received clarification from Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) that these regulations do not apply to business events such as GETEX but we are falling short of receiving a clarified statement from NCEMA or DHA on a public platform that will give parents, students and school managements the information to put their minds at ease and the confidence to visit GETEX without breaking the restrictions as stated in their press statements.” GETEX says.

GETEX also thanked the University Representatives who shared their views and voiced their concerns to the management of the Dubai World Trade Centre. They said, “The onus eventually falls on us and collectively, we have had unanimous feedback that deferring GETEX is a better option as opposed to hosting the event for an audience of students who will not be able to attend due to the restrictions recently put in place.”

Therefore, GETEX has decided to postpone to 2022 with the new show dates from Wednesday, 23rd February to Friday, 25th February 2022 at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre.
