Brighton College Al Ain celebrates Class of 2018 Graduation Ceremony

On the 2nd of May 2018, Brighton College Al Ain held its 2nd annual graduation ceremony, in the College Theatre, celebrating the accomplishments of 26 graduating students before an audience that comprised peers, teachers and families.

Brighton College Al Ain was particularly honoured to have, as the keynote speaker of this year’s graduation ceremony, Isobel Abulhoul OBE, CEO & Trustee of Emirates Literature Foundation and co-founder of Magrudy’s bookshop chain.

 

Representing the graduating class of 2018 were Brighton College Al Ain’s Head Boy and Head Girl, who both made moving speeches praising the motivation and support of parents and teaching staff.

“To our wonderful teachers, who deserve a huge round of applause for their efforts. It’s very easy to take what they do for granted – yet they continue to inspire and lead us every single day.” – Mohamed Azribi, Head Boy.

“Our parents, families, friends, and peers have consistently been the most motivating, and understanding support force – you are the backbone of our progress.” – Emily Maxwell, Head Girl.

Brighton College Al Ain Head Master Dr. Ken Greig commented: “We are so proud of what our students have accomplished, and we are confident that the skills and education they obtained at Brighton College have given them the foundation they need to be successful in their career and in life.”

The graduates, who sit their final A level examinations this June, have received offers of university places at King’s College London, Royal Veterinary College, Cambridge, Manchester, York, Sheffield and Leeds, to name but a few. Fields of study include Computer Science, Bio-Medical Engineering, Social Policy, Crime and Criminal Justice, Dental Surgery and Medicine.

Brighton College Al Ain was established in 2013 by Bloom Education, in partnership with Brighton College UK. This year’s graduation ceremony follows a year of major achievements for Brighton College Al Ain after the school was proud to secure a second consecutive ‘Outstanding’ rating by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, in April 2018.

Next term, Brighton College Al Ain will open a new junior school expansion which is currently being built and will include a new sport/assembly hall, additional outdoor areas and eight new classrooms.
