SHARJAH, 29th April, 2017 (WAM) — Bee’ah, the Middle East’s leading and award-winning environmental management company, has announced the conclusion of its successful Sharjah-wide campaign titled, ‘Recycling Just Got Easier’.

Designed to supply green and blue, bio-degradable, recycling bags to the public across four Sharjah Cooperative Society outlets, the campaign achieved outstanding results since its launch.

In an endeavour to educate the residents of Sharjah on effective waste-management solutions, Bee’ah supplies blue and green recycling bags to reduce the adverse effects of the improper disposal of waste.

The bags are available across all Sharjah Co-op branches and come in four different sizes: small, medium, large and extra-large. Bee’ah has designed these biodegradable bags to be cost-efficient for the consumer as every resident can now afford to play their part in a sustainable future for the next generation.

The coloured bags make segregating waste from recyclables easy, serving as a visual reminder to sort general waste in the green bags and recyclables in the blue bags. Furthermore, Bee’ah has introduced a yellow, biodegradable, zipper bag for the disposal of all hygiene products.

Khaled Al Huraimel, Group CEO of Bee’ah, explained, “A central component of Bee’ah’s mission is to inspire communities towards a better future. In this regards, the innovative approach to the Co-op campaign reached new heights. As an evidence-based company that transforms and enhances the lives of people within the community in tangible ways, the pre- and post-campaign numbers speak for themselves. By inspiring and educating the next generation about shared responsibility towards the environment, it inspires each individual to lead environmental change.”

The initiative focused on three basic principles reduce, reuse and recycle, providing a concise and comprehensive approach to environmental education and recycling adoption. The bio-degradable recycling bags for this particular campaign were available at Sharjah Cooperative Society outlets located in Halwan, Gharayen, Al Khan and Sweihat.

Since the launch of the marketing campaign, the Halwan branch has witnessed a 70 percent increase in orders while Gharayen and Al Khan observed a 60 percent increase. In addition, the Sweihat location has seen the orders increase by 50 percent.
