Professor is an academic position at universities,research institutions and other post-secondary education institutions.The aggregate of education required to become a professor varies both by the subject one teaches and the school one works for, but normally a Master’s degree is the minimum qualification.They are employed by many governments and private universities, and research institutes across the country. Besides teaching, many professors also regularly involve in, and contribute to research developments in their arena, by writing research papers.
Academic Entry Requirement
- Grade 12 –Pass Class XII in Any Stream.
- Graduation –Pursue Graduation for 3-4 years in any discipline.
- After Graduation –Pursue Post Graduation for 2 years in any discipline/concerned discipline.
- After post-graduation–Pursue Ph.D. for 3-5 years in the same discipline/Clear UGC or CSIR-UGC NET.

Professional Career
College professors are responsible for organisingclasses, course materials forundergraduate and graduate students. These courses may be in seminar, lecture, field study, or laboratory formats. Various university professors also conduct associated research in their field of expertise.
They spend a lot of time in a classroom conducting lectures, or in an office meeting with students, and preparing materials. They work anywhere from nine to twelve hours a week teaching classes, an extra 20-30 hours preparing for classes, and about 10 hours a week reviewing, grading, and evaluating course projects.
Some college professors conduct research in order to publish work in their field. Also, many college professors take on more duty by looking for a position such as Department Chairs.
