Participants stressed the importance of establishing a new social contract due to factors affecting the future of the world such as globalization, the economic shift from the west to the east, and urbanisations. They also affirmed that governmental, private and social sectors must cooperate in searching for solutions to curb future social challenges.
The Council noted that the upcoming future technological revolution demand all parties to participate in finding solutions and facing challenges. It added that governments must adopt fundamental changes in developing public policies, providing services, and adapting to the changes resulting from the unprecedented levels of local and global interconnection enabled by modern communication technologies.
