This academic year, UAE schools will enjoy a month-long winter break, creating a great opportunity for students to embark on meaningful adventures that combine learning, fun, and personal growth. The Hero Winter Camp transforms this extended holiday into a season of real-world exploration, discovery, and skill-building in nature. Each experience combines physical challenges, environmental education, and creative outdoor activities that build resilience, confidence, and lifelong friendships.
Hero Winter Camp: Desert Experience | Dubai
Framed by sweeping golden dunes and a nomadic-inspired setting, the Desert Experience invites young explorers on a day-long educational adventure through one of the UAE’s most remarkable natural landscapes. Each day introduces a new theme, ranging from wildlife conservation and desert ecology to archaeology and traditional survival skills, ensuring campers discover something different with every visit.
At the Dubai Desert Conservation Centre, they’ll study how desert species and ecosystems are protected today. In palaeontology sessions, they’ll uncover ancient fossils and trace the story of the land’s evolution. Meanwhile, the Camel Caravan Challenge sparks creativity and teamwork as campers design and test transport systems inspired by traditional Bedouin journeys, blending innovation with problem-solving in a fun, hands-on way.
With every sunrise and sunset, the desert becomes both playground and classroom, helping young adventurers connect with nature, build confidence, and learn problem-solving skills.

Hero Winter Camp: Mountain Experience | Kalba, Sharjah
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Kalba Mountains, the Mountain Experience immerses campers in five days of unforgettable outdoor discovery and personal growth – making new friends, sharing laughter around bonfires, and discovering the joy of adventure. From facing challenges like Jacob’s Ladder, where trust and cooperation are the only way to reach the top, or Capture the Flag, which tests both strategy and stamina in a spirit of friendly rivalry. These group challenges are paired with quieter, individual experiences like learning campcraft that builds self-reliance, exploring the Kalba mountains and mangroves on guided walks exploring scenic trails, or kayaking through the Al Qurm Reserve, where nature itself becomes a teacher.
Campers also learn essential campcraft, developing self-reliance and problem-solving skills in a safe and engaging environment. Balancing adventure with quiet reflection, the Mountain Camp ensures every child returns home with fresh skills, lasting connections, environmental appreciation, and stories they’ll treasure long after the campfire fades.
